Yes very much so.
i was praying that leicester came in for parkinson.
cant believe he has let four of our best players go and replaced them with, except doherty, league two players at best. Bailey, Sam, Richardson and Shelvey will be difficult to replace.
Unless Parkinson has got something up his sleeve it is clear that we have no chance of getting promoted and he has no idea.
Terry, You don’t really believe Parky let them go, do you?
This is typical from some Charlton fans, the board decide to sell every good player we have, and have ever had, and yet the manager gets the flack for it? How does that add up? He has no say with how the board want to finance the club, and who goes, and will be only allowed to get in freebies… Give the bloke a break!
Some fans wouldn’t understand how great Curbs was either… He was given a relative pittance every season, yet achieved 8 years in the premier… It won’t get better than that for Charlton, unless we get the likes of him again (not easy) or get taken over by people that actually have the funds to run a football club in these crazy modern times.
Supported em for over 50 years and remember only too well the 60s and 70s two decades of rubbish which is what we are facing now only difference is the Valley is in decent nick. Don’t blame PP he did not squander the LL and AC legacy. BM must take the can while PP tries to keep us out of League 2 with his hands tied behind his back
Parkinson, Who’s BM?
Did you mean to say RM? If so I couldn’t agree more… He has to carry the can, and supporters should stop looking for scapegoats, and quick fixes, when the shortfalls are glaringly obvious. The board didn’t have the clout to maintain our success, and have less clout now to get us back where most of us want to be…. I say most of us, because I do know there are some that are just happy to see any crap served up, as long as they have “their” club…
RM of course, you only have to look at the number of ex Charlton players featuring regularly in higher divisions to see where it has all gone so badly wrong. I am glad to see us focusing on our own kids again but we still have to figure out a way of holding on to them longer if they prove useful aka Jonjo. If its choice between Dailly and Fortune I would pick the former evertime. When JF was comming through the ranks it always amazed me that we kept him and let big Danny S go. That was one of the few that AC did get wrong.
